London-based sales outfit Moviehouse Entertainment has picked up international rights to “El Cantante,” the biopic of Puerto Rican salsa music pioneer Hector Lavoe. Picturehouse Entertainment released the movie Stateside over the summer.
Pic, starring Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, tracks Lavoe’s stormy relationship with his wife, his meteoric career and his long fight with drug addiction.
Julio Caro, Lopez and Simon Fields produced.
Moviehouse is also repping South African gangster epic “Jerusalem,” U.K. thriller “Sugarhouse,” John Boorman’s “The Tiger’s Tail” and Sid Vicious documentary “Who Killed Nancy?”
