ESPN’s signature program “SportsCenter” is branching out into cyberspace for the first time with a lickety-split daily-highlight show “the SportsCenter Minute.”
The shows kicks off on ESPN.com Monday at 6 a.m., N.Y. time, the day after the cablecast of the 30,000th episode of “SportsCenter.”
ESPN will put together the daily one-minute package after the conclusion of the West Coast games, featuring the regular “Sportschannel” anchors, and funnel it not only to the ESPN.com home page but to the Spanish-language ESPN Desportes Web site.
AT&T has signed up as the launch sponsor. John Kosner, ESPN’s senior VP and GM of new media, spearheaded the development of “SportsCenter Minute.”
