Sony Pictures has tapped Richard Berger as senior VP of new media and technology.
Exec, who had been working for the parent conglom, will help develop digital strategy and policies for the studio, working closely with the TV and homevid groups on their digital ventures. He will also focus on antipiracy measures.
Berger will report to Mitch Singer, chief technology officer and exec VP of new media.
Previously, Berger worked in the Sony Digital Entertainment department and the office of the chief technology officer for Sony Corp. of America, where he was responsible for digital media strategy and antipiracy efforts. He also served a stint in the company’s broadband services division and Sony Music.
