First show will be held in Dec. 10-13
HONG KONG — Asian animators and graphic artists will have a chance to put their tech suppliers through their paces next year with the launch of Siggraph Asia.First show will be held in Singapore Dec. 10-13, 2008, with 2009 edition relocating to Yokohama, Japan. A spin-off from ACM Siggraph event in the U.S., the show will feature “a wide spectrum of anchor programs designed to appeal to the event’s target audience, such as academics, professionals, artists, animators and students,” organizers Koelnmesse said in a statement. “The conference and exhibition will feature high-quality and original research papers, a computer animation festival, and hands-on courses and tutorials in the latest computer graphics and interactive techniques.” Some 6,000 attendees are estimated to visit the trade exhibition and nearly 1,000 delegates are forecast for the conference. “The art and science of computer graphics are advancing in quantum leaps,” said Lee Yong Tsui, conference chair, Siggraph Asia 2008. “Given the high-quality contents that we seek to offer, we expect the computer graphics fraternity to be amazed by the cutting edge developments on show at Siggraph Asia 2008.”
