Salvatores takes on ‘Commands’

Gabriele Salvatores will start shooting in February on “Come Dio comanda” (“As God Commands”), the Oscar-winning Italo director’s second film based on a book by best-selling novelist Niccolo Ammanniti. “Commands,” a dark father-and-son drama centered around 11-year-old Cristiano and his neo-Nazi dad, will begin shooting Feb. 4 in the Northern Friuli region strewn with strip malls and condos, a setting congenial to its contemporary dystopian feel.
