Joost boosts Bollywood fare

Saavn inks deal with Internet platform

Bollywood is getting a boost through Joost. Saavn, a New York-based content provider of Hindi films, TV shows and musicvids, has inked with the Internet platform to stream its vast library.

The company was the first to offer Bollywood on demand through its BODVOD Networks division to more than 30 distribution partners including Time Warner, Cox and iTunes.

“This is just the beginning — Bollywood fans will be taking many work breaks once they see how easy and fun this new service is,” said Saavn co-founder and g.m. Vin Bhat.

One plus for Bollywood fans will be rare musicvideos including a few black and white classics starring Raj Kapoor and Madhubala.
