TOKYO — Viacom Intl. Japan will supply users of NTT DoCoMo’s 3.5-generation HSDPA wireless phones with hi-res clips, starting Tuesday.
Users will be able to download clips from three Viacom distribbed shows: “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Jackass” and a toon program developed especially for cellphones. The clips will come in sets of two and run for 90-120 seconds. Users will pay a monthly fee for the clip service, ranging from $2.60 to $4.34.
A subsidiary of MTV Network, Viacom Intl. Japan also operates Flux, a video sharing site for broadband users that, on its launch in October, was the first of its type in the world.
