Service will show major shows day after airing
SYDNEY — Telco Telstra announced a huge push into mobile technology on Thursday with the launch of more than 20 full-length skeins streamed to phones on its Next G network.
Telco also bowed a catch up service that will show major free-to-air shows the day after they bow on the free webs.
“Family Guy,” “The Shield” and local hit “The Chaser’s War on Everything” will be available from today as well as upcoming programs “Damages” and “Kidnapped.” BigPond has also commissioned two local made-for-mobile skeins, “Big 5” and “Girl Friday.”
The deal will make Oz the first territory outside the U.S. to show full episodes of Comedy Central toon “South Park.” Packages of MTV and Nickelodeon fare such as “Pimp My Ride” and “Jackass” will also be available.
