PARIS — The Reference des Equipments Multimedias, a thrice-yearly report issued by market research groups Mediametrie and GfK, cites a major jump in ADSL box usage in France.
More than 7 million homes and offices are now equipped with ADSL boxes, a 63% rise in only one year.
The biggest increase is found in urban professionals aged between 35 and 49.
Some 1.85 million French users are also using ADSL for TV reception.
The report also notes that 22.5 million French aged 11 and over live in homes having at least one MP3 player, with 11 million downloading to MP3 players regularly.
