Orange connects with French TV

VOD deal signed with France Televisions

PARIS — Telco Orange and France Televisions have inked an exclusive deal to offer Orange subscribers greater access to the network’s digital program bundles on TV, PC or mobile screens.

The rewind TV service will provide on-demand access to information and entertainment programs for up to seven days from their original broadcasts, and dramatic series, documentaries and other shows for up to 30 days. National and regional news broadcasts included in the offering will not have exclusive distribution rights.

France Televisions, the broadcaster of three terrestrial, one digital and one satellite channels, hopes the arrangement will help to consolidate its leading position in non-movie VOD services in France.

Orange customers should be able to receive rewind TV before the end of 2007.
