As part of its expansion into more online programming, MTV has tapped Dan Hart as senior VP, general manager of MTV Digital.
Additionally, Paul DeBenedittis has been upped to VP of operations and Colin Helms to VP of programming.
Hart previously served as VP of online games strategy and operations for MTV Networks.
In his new role, Hart will oversee original content based on on-air programming, new product development in the digital space and further music offerings on MTV.com.
He reports to MTV prexy Christina Norman and Brian Graden, entertainment prexy of MTV Networks’ music group, and will work under the oversight of Courtney William Holt, exec VP of digital music and media for MTV Networks’ Music Group on digital strategy and initiatives.
He will work with Dave Sirulnick, exec VP of MTV multiplatform production, news and music.
Hart joined MTV Networks in 2004, where he’s led the team that’s developed game properties for MTVN’s Web sites based on “The Real World,” “Pimp My Ride,” “Two-a-Days,” “Flavor of Love,” “Trick My Truck,” “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” and “South Park.”
Before MTV, Hart headed Yahoo Games.
Both DeBenedittis and Helms are MTV vets, with DeBenedittis most recently holding various posts in programming, promotions, ad integration, e-commerce, planning and operations in the MTV Digital Media group.
Helms created MTV’s online editorial department and has developed original digital programming for the “MTV Video Music Awards” and “The MTV Movie Awards.”
Before MTV, Helms was a founding editor of the men’s lifestyle mag Complex.
