Exec named chief operating officer

CBS Interactive has upped CBS Sportsline general manager Stephen Snyder to chief operating officer, overseeing day-to-day operations for all of the net’s Web sites.

Snyder will be responsible for sites including CBS.com, CBSNews.com and Sportsline. He reports to CBS Interactive prexy Quincy Smith.

Snyder has been with Sportsline since 1998, when the then-independent Netco bought his previous employer, GolfWeb.

CBS is looking for a replacement to serve as Sportsline general manager.
