Alexa Amin joins Sony Animation

Regency exec to serve as VP of development

Sony Pictures Animation has tapped Alexa Amin as its VP of development.

Amin joins Sony’s toon division from New Regency, where she was veep of production and worked on numerous projects, including family pics “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and the upcoming “Fantastic Mr. Fox.” Prior to that, she worked at Spyglass.

She will be involved in all aspects of development and production. SPA is working on “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” and “Hotel Transylvania,” and has other projects including “Neanderthals” and “Big Alien Musical” in development.

She reports to Nate Hopper, senior VP of development.
