Warner Premiere adapting ‘Clique’

Book series has sold 4 million copies

Warner Premiere will produce a series of direct-to-disc pics based on the popular YA series “The Clique.”

Warner Premiere will partner with the series’ developers and producers, Alloy Entertainment, to adapt Lisi Harrison’s tomes for the tween girl aud.

Series revolves around the social life of a 12-year-old girl from the wealthy suburbs north of New York City. The series has sold more than 4 million copies Stateside.

Warner will launch the DVD series with “The Clique,” an adaptation of the 2004 book that launched the lit series. Disc is skedded for release next year.

Alloy’s Les Morgenstein and Bob Levy will produce. Liz Tigelaar had been tapped to adapt the tomes for the disc series.

Alloy develops and produces books, skeins and pic for teens and young adults. The company developed “Gossip Girl,” a book series being adapted for the CW by Josh Schwartz. A sequel to “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” another adaptation of an Alloy tome, is in production.
