Icebox to produce nine episodes of Web show
Online-originals creator Icebox will produce approximately nine episodes of Web show “Hidden Celebrity Webcam” for Internet video firm GoFish.
Skein is an animated take on celeb gaffes from Britney Spears to Isaiah Washington; show was created by Neil Scovell, creator of network sitcom “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.”
GoFish, which showcases original short-form entertainment made for the Web, has been expanding its exclusive content slate. “Many Internet companies are re-purposing content from other places. We want to bring programming to the Internet that people can’t find anywhere else,” said GoFish’s Tom Sarris.
Icebox is one of the early online-original firms; it’s the collaboration of a number of television scribes and has featured their work over the years.
“Webcam” eps, which will air weekly over the next several months, will be sponsored by the MTV Movie Awards.
Go Fish will also oversee a user-generated contest to create an original ep of “Webcam” that will be judged by “24” exec producer Howard Gordon, “The Simpsons” co-exec producer Rob LaZebnik, “King of the Hill co-exec producer John Collier and Scovell.
