Robert Greenwald’s Brave New Films has unveiled its latest volley in its war against Fox News: calling out Bill O’Reilly, among others, for showing indecent images in their rallies against indecency.
They are asking basic cable subscribers to tell the FCC that “they should not be forced to pay for inappropriate sexual content on Fox News.” Their evidence: a newly released Internet video (below), in the vein of Greenwald’s “Outfoxed” documentary.
On their blog, they write, with a bit of tongue planted in cheek, “The self righteous, pompous, bloviators who deign to lecture on how we should behave in our personal lives, are in fact exploiting women, pandering to the lowest common denominator and pushing smut out on the airwaves on a daily basis!”
Among other things, they note that “under the guise of reporting on Internet porn sites who publish pictures of the youngest girls allowed (18), the moral decadence exhibited at beaches during Spring break, and American Idol stars who take it all off for magazines, O’Reilly played videos and showed screenshots in the interest of letting his audience see what he’s talking about, raising their, um, outrage.”
A Fox News spokesman tells W&W, “Is Greenwald still alive, or is it just his career that’s dead?”
