Oliver Stone will unveil his new MoveOn ad in Santa Monica on Thursday, with Vietnam war veteran and activist Ron Kovic on hand with the ad’s subject, Iraq war vet John Bruhns. MoveOn says that the 30-second anti-war spot will debut sometime during the day on CNN.
Spinal Tap Reunion: Another filmmaker, Rob Reiner, unveils a new Spinal Tap film on the Live Earth website, LiveEarth.MSN.com. The film, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival, shows the band’s efforts to reunite for the July 7, 2007 concerts. Reiner intro’s the pic in a video below.
Clooney Project: Variety’s Pamela McClintock reports that George Clooney’s company has bought the rights to “Escape from Tehran,” based on a Wired magazine story about how the CIA, with the help of Hollywood, used a fake movie to help smuggle a handful of Americans out of Tehran during the hostage crisis.
