I reported on Monday on Barry Manilow's contribution to Ron Paul, the Republican candidate who has proven to be a thorn in the side of the rest of the GOP field. He's against the war in Iraq and sparred with Rudy Giuliani over the reasons terrorists struck the United States on 9/11.

Paul, obviously, is grateful for the support.

Via the Los Angeles Times' Top of the Ticket blog, there's this exchange from last night's Tucker Carlson show on MSNBC.

Carlson: "We saw these FEC reports, including those from your campaign, and were amazed to learn that Congressionalrecord Barry Manilow has given to your campaign. … It looks like we have. Do you know Barry Manilow?"

Paul: "No, I do not. I was very pleased to find that out."

Asked if he was a fan of Manilow's music, Paul responded, "I really like it now, I will tell you that."

Manilow has also given to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Joseph Biden.
