Modern art is weighing in on campaign ’08 — 18 months before the election.
Mark McKinnon, President Bush’s top advertising strategist who is now working for John McCain, is producing commercials for a mock presidential campaign of Sharon Stone.
The spots will be featured as part of an exhibition of artist Francesco Vezzoli at this year’s Venice Biennale, the New York Times reports. Also featured will be spots created by Bill Knapp, the senior ad maker for Mr. Kerry, and his colleague Jim Mulhall, for Stone’s mock opponent, Bernard-Henri Lévy.
Each camp will have an attack ad and a positve advertisement, McKinnon tells the Times. “You should see the negatives we’ve done on the guy.”
