Roland Emmerich, Chad Griffin and Yashar Hedayat are the chairs of Hillary Clinton’s next major entertainment industry fund-raiser, this one on June 22 at Emmerich’s Hollywood home.
This event is expected to draw a share of the gay Hollywood community, as campaigns have been targeting specific segments of the Los Angeles donor base.
Co-chairs of the event are Greg Berlanti, Betsy Billard, Bruce Cohen, Warren Cohn, Wayne Flick, Shelley Freeman, Tanya Grubich and Philip Mercado and Todd Quinn.
Hosts are Ilene Chaiken, Robert Conroy, Bonnie Curtis, Joel Flatow, Kevin Iwashina, Michelle Jackino, Todd Krim, Sheila Kuehl, Claire Lucas, Roy Peters and Hilary Rosen. More names probably will be added as the date approaches.
Tickets are $2,300 for a VIP reception, $500 for the general reception and $250 for young professionals.
Meanwhile, the New York Times’ Caucus Blog wonders whether Clinton is inching her way toward support of gay marriage. She opposes it, along with all of the other Democratic contenders except Dennis Kucinich. But the field all support a host of other gay rights issues.
In Washington on Wednesday night, Clinton has a low-dollar fund-raiser with “Babyface” Edmonds and “American Idol” Katharine McPhee singing, reports the D.C. Examiner’s Yeas & Nays. Also involved are tennis legend Billie Jean King, author Maya Angelou, Geraldine Ferraro and Madeleine Albright.
