Hillary Clinton has called a Pentagon official’s response to her inquiry on withdrawing troops from Iraq “outrageous and dangerous.” Undersecretary of Defense Eric Edelman had written to the senator, saying that her suggestions of planning for a withdrawal of troops reinforces “enemy propaganda.” The whole exchange only bolsters her case, with even fellow Republicans calling for a withdrawal, and perhaps also quells criticism of her previous votes on Iraq.
Law’s Journey, Clooney’s Doc: Jude Law travels to Afghanistan to film a documentary that is part of Peace Day on September 21. Meanwhile, George Clooney’s “A Journey to Darfur” doc got its DVD release this week, with proceeds going to the Not on Our Watch humanitarian project created by himself, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and Jerry Weintraub.
Olbermann Oratory: In response to Edelman’s letter to Hillary Clinton, Olbermann again calls for Bush’s impeachment, saying that he’s trying to scapegoat Clinton and other war opponents in the same way that conservatives blasted Jane Fonda and protesters during Vietnam. Video below.
