Soon, people will be forced to read

Gordon Cox, a Variety reporter in New York, tells us that we may soon see another strike — this one by Broadway stagehands, which are part of IATSE.

Local One president James J. Claffey has previously told union members that a strike would probably be timed to begin in December, thereby hitting producers during the holidays, the Rialto's most profitable time. A work stoppage would darken the majority of Broadway shows.
