NBC latenight staffs: Safe for two more weeks–at least

Non- WGA staffers at “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” can breathe a bit easier. They won’t be getting laid off tomorrow.

“The staffs for Leno, Conan and Carson Daly will be paid their full salaries for at least two more weeks,” an NBC spokeswoman told Scribe Vibe Thursday.

Last week, Daily Variety reported that NBC would let those staffs go if the strike continued. Since then, producers with all three shows have been quietly lobbying NBC to extend that grace period.

David Letterman’s Worldwide Pants has said it will pay its staff through year’s end.
