MEXICO CITY — Azteca America has scored an affiliate agreement for Portland, Ore., with KWVT, owned by Churchill Media.
Churchill was founded in 2004 in Eugene, Ore., to target Hispanics and has four radio stations in the state. The Northwest has seen rapid growth in its Spanish-speaking population.
Azteca America, U.S. subsid of Mexico’s No.2 net TV Azteca, has said it will announce further affiliate deals in the coming week to replace stations lost under its recently canceled deal with Pappas Telecasting.
In July, Pappas will end its agreements with Azteca in five markets, including the Sacramento-San Francisco area and Houston.
Azteca America is in 57 markets and has a national audience share of approximately 3% of Hispanics.
