Amalgamated sells Village stake

Sale won't affect Roadshow's joint ventures

SYDNEY — Amalgamated Holdings has sold its share of Village Roadshow for A$22 million ($18 million), part of a strategy intended to focus AHL on its core businesses, including the Greater Union Cinemas loop.

The company said the sale will not affect its joint ventures with Village Roadshow, including cinemas in Australia’s eastern states and a 50% share in Roadshow Distributors.
