Employees protest union contract issues

More than 150 ABC employees rallied Thursday at Lincoln Square in Gotham over union contract issues.

The employees are repped by the Writers Guild of America East and Nabet. The Guild employees, who have been without a contract for over two years, were protesting the lack of progress in contract talks and the loss of 17 slots at ABC’s operations in Washington, D.C., recently.

Nabet reps called for ABC to give them a “fair” contract when they return to the table next week.

The WGA agreement expired on Jan. 31, 2005, and covers 250 people. The two sides last met late last year.
