Struthers is stagebound

“After watching the Tonys Sunday night I hungered for a return to B’way.” It was Sally Struthers talking as she readies yet another return to the stage.

She was rehearsing for the June 16 bow in “Always…Patsy Cline” with Julie Johnson in Palm Springs’ new Pavilion Theater for producer Dick Taylor. Struthers has played B’way in “Wallys Cafe” “The Odd Couple,” and “Grease.”

“Cline” in Palm Springs is her ninth site with the two-character show. She’s on hiatus from “Gilmore Girls” — and believes the series’ next, seventh season may be its finale. Before returning to the tv’er, she’ll perform frames in summer sites in “Hello Dolly” at Ogunquit, Maine, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” in Radford, Virginia and is talking “Gypsy” with Palm Springs’ Taylor for the next hiatus.
