Once again the name of Hollywood spelled magic, in the shape of charitable contributions.
This time it was Charlize Theron who hosted the gala bow of Social Hollywood at the party signaling the glamorous rebirth of the legendary Hollywood Athletic Club.
Theron donated, for the first time, items from her costume closet. They included a bra she wore in the bathroom washing scene from “Monster.” The donations go to the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Program “to create a safer, healthier and better life for impoverished children and their families in South Africa.”
The opening night program was held in the new club’s Moroccan Room — one of several in the historic site now reborn by restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow and partner Melissa Richardson.
Among those on hand Tuesday night were: Lindsay Lohan, P. Diddy, Nicole Richie, Jamie Foxx, Russell Simmons, Taylor Hicks, Josh Randall, Rebecca DeMornay, David Moscow, Dave Martin, Christopher Knight, Adrianne Curry, and Chris Kattan.
Social Hollywood’s main floor is open to the public (reservations, pliz), while the second is for invitational-only memberships to the Game Room, Green Room and — Velvet Room. And — there’s also a nod to the past — the ballroom’s named the Barrymore.
