Mother Dolores (Hart) and the nuns of the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Conn. are going back into the recording studio. In 1997 and again in 2002 they recorded Gregorian Chants for their CD’s "Women in Chant."

The cover credits "Meditations: Mother Dolores Hart, O.S.B." I spoke with her (on the phone) at the Abbey and she said the recording session starts in March. It will be the first recording of Christmas chants — "with key pieces for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I will do the speaking announcement of Christmas," said Hart, a onetime Hollywood leading lady — and costar of Elvis Presley. "It is a challenge," she admitted. "But I hope it brings a note of joy to the world — to people today who only hear horrible tales of who is being killed and tortured."

Hart visited L.A. in April — her first return since departing for her new life at the Abbey. "It was a pre-taste of Heaven," she says of the three days here. Her biography is being written by longtime friend, photographer Dick Deneut.
