Move follows acquisitions in Denmark, Russia and Poland
LONDON — U.K. factual and documentary specialist, Diverse Productions, is being lined up for takeover by Scandinavia’s second largest production combo, Zodiak Television.
The move, which follows acquisitions in Denmark, Russia and Poland, confirms the Stockholm-based company’s desire to become a player in Blighty.
In a statement, Zodiak Televisions said it is “in closing discussions with FBC Group Limited, the owners of the U.K. based production company Diverse Production, with regards to an acquisition.
“If the parties find themselves in agreement the transaction is scheduled to close in the near future.”
It is only two years since FBC paid a reported $14.5 million for Diverse, makers of skeins such as reality arts skeins “Musical-ity,” “Operatunity” and “Ballet Changed My Life” for Blighty’s Channel 4.
Zodiak’s assets include Danish distributor ZTVW, and a number of production outfits including Mastiff Media, MTV Mastiff, Jarowskij, T&T Broadcasters and Zodiac AFP in Sweden.
