LONDON — Scandinavian indie Zodiak Television has finalized a deal to buy award-winning U.K. producer Diverse.
The move gives the ambitious Zodiak a valuable foothold in the dynamic British independent production sector.
Owner FBC Group sold Diverse, which specializes in arts-based reality shows such as “Ballet Changed My Life” and “Operatunity,” for an undisclosed sum.
Diverse managing director Paul Sowerbutts said: “This is fantastic news for Diverse. We are confident that joining such a vibrant, distribution-driven group as Zodiak will deliver a wealth of new opportunities for us.”
Zodiac president-CEO “Patrick Svensk has already expressed his commitment to continuing to build on our recent U.K. and U.S. success stories,” Sowerbutts added, “as well as opening up new distribution avenues internationally, and we are full of optimism as we embark upon this new chapter of our growth.”
In the U.S., Diverse makes “Shalom in the Home” for TLC. Under its new owner, a priority will be to grow combo’s U.S. activities.
