BERLIN — French broadcaster TF1 has inked a VOD content deal with German sports and entertainment rights group EM.TV.
Pact extends over an 18-month period and covers France, Monaco, Andorra and the French overseas territories.
The agreement includes a package of EM.TV’s tyke-aimed toon series and films such as “Maya the Bee,” “Heidi,” “Tabaluga,” “Flipper & Lopaka,” “Nils Holgersson,” “Lapitch the Little Shoemaker,” “Pippi Longstocking” and “Momo.”
TF1, which already airs some of the shows on free TV, will now additionally offer content on streaming and downloads from the internet.
“The agreement with TF1 clearly demonstrates the great appeal of children’s and youth programs from EM.Entertainment for exploitation within the video-on-demand sector,” said Patrick Elmendorff, managing director of EM.Entertainment.
“With this co-operation, we have not only succeeded in intensifying the long-standing partnership with this broadcaster, but have also pushed forward our development of this highly influential area of business.”
