SBS, Mega TV plan birthday bash

Duo to produce docu-reality skein

Mega TV, the South Florida TV station of radio group Spanish Broadcasting System, has teamed with Plural Entertainment to produce “Mis 15,” a docu-reality show about the coming-of-age tradition for Latino femmes.

Show features a quinceanera, which fetes a girl’s 15th birthday, not unlike a sweet 16 party. Show bows 9 p.m. April 5.

“Mis 15” will follow the stress, drama and fun as girls and their families prepare for the big day.

SBS aims to license or sell its programming to other Spanish-language outlets around the country.

Plural, with offices in Miami and Madrid, is a subsid of Spanish media group Prisa. Shingle produces scripted and unscripted fare in Spain, Latin America and for the U.S. market.

A majority shareholder of Spanish independent film producer Tesela, Plural also co-produces films in Latin America.
