‘Runway’ fashions victory

Reality skein walks over competish

Bravo’s “Project Runway” mowed down the competition Wednesday, drawing a big 5.4 million total viewers to its finale.

In addition, the season-two bow of cabler’s “Top Chef” drew a solid 1.9 million — up 46% from the first-season preem — at 11 p.m.

“Runway” delivered its biggest audience ever and topped the night on cable. Telecast ranks as the top-rated and most watched in Bravo history.

“Runway’s” third-season finale was even more impressive in the key adults 18-49 demo (3.4 million), topping all cable competish. Demo number was up 39% on last year’s season finale. “Runway” beat all broadcast and cable shows in several major markets, including Seattle and San Francisco.

“Chef” also drew a nice 1.3 million adults 18-49. Series moves into its regular Wednesday-at-10 timeslot next week.

“Project Runway” is exec produced by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz of Magical Elves. Heidi Klum, Desiree Gruber, Jane Cha and Shauna Minoprio also exec produce. Miramax Television and the Weinstein Co. produce.
