MTV Latin America is prepping a series of half-hour specials in the run-up to Mexico’s presidential election in July. Skein aims to urge the country’s youth to get informed and vote.
Titled “We Are 30 Million: Conversations With Presidential Candidates,” it features a series of interviews with presidential contenders hosted by “Noticias MTV” anchor Ilana Sod.
A collaboration with Tu Rock Es Votar and the Todos Participando Foundation (LosCandidatos.com), the 30-minute specials will tape at MTV’s studios in Mexico City in May and air in alphabetical order at the end of May on MTV Latin America, as well as via the Internet at mtvrevolution.com, turockesvotar.org and loscandidatos.com.
Through this series of specials, MTV and its consortium partners aim to “raise the awareness around the importance of youth vote in Mexico’s presidential elections,” said Carlos Magana, country manager for Mexico, MTV Networks Latin America.
“We Are 30 Million” is part of MTV Latin America’s pro-social campaign MTV Grita (MTV Shouts).
