India gov’t wants MTV to say sorry

The government has ordered six music channels, including MTV, to screen an apology for three days this week for showing “indecent” videos, according to the ministry of information and broadcasting.

The channels must run a scroll along the bottom of the screen apologizing for violating the programming code, the official said, or they will be suspended by cable and satellite platforms.

The ministry received complaints about sexually suggestive images and about drinking and smoking onscreen.
