Fox Life net bows in Latin America

World Brief

Delayed from the original fourth-quarter launch, femme-skewed Fox Life bowed last week in Latin America with 1.5 million subs.

Fox Life mixes comedy, dramas, films and Latin American telenovelas.

It has carriage accords with satcaster DirecTV Panamericana (for countries outside Mexico and Brazil), Mexico’s Cablevision and Mexican provincial programming buying group PCTV, Net Brasil, Cable Tica in Costa Rica, TV Cable Bogota, TV Cable Ecuador and Televisora Satelital in Peru.

FX, a male-skewed channel, also now has an accord with DirecTV Panamericana, upping its pan-regional reach to 13 million homes. The channel bowed in Brazil a year ago; the roll-out to Spanish-speaking countries began in May.

Other Fox channels in Latin America include Fox net, Fox Sports (operated from the sports division), Fox News and Speed. The group reps the National Geographic and Universal nets as well.
