New deal will take effect beginning September
Debmar-Mercury has acquired rights to “Family Feud” from producer FremantleMedia North America.
Company, headed by Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein, has secured domestic syndication distribution rights to “Feud,” previously distributed by Tribune.
New deal will take effect beginning September.
“Not only is ‘Family Feud’ one of the longest-running gameshows but it also represents one of the strongest brands in television,” Bernstein said.
“We wanted to get into the gameshow market with a perennial, and after 30 years on the air, this show continues to deliver,” Marcus added.
John O’Hurley hosts new episodes of “Feud,” which just celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Debmar-Mercury distributes “South Park,” “The Dead Zone,” “Farscape” and Tyler Perry’s firstrun comedy “House of Payne,” among others.
