Cologne confab teams with Spiegel

30 new productions to be screened at fest

The Cologne Conference TV and film confab has pacted with news weekly Spiegel and its TV production subsidiary Spiegel TV in its first sponsorship deal.

The 30 new productions to be screened at the fest, which runs May 18-24, will include Sydney Pollack’s documentary about architect Frank Gehry, series “Prison Break” and the last pic by assassinated Dutch helmer Theo van Gogh.

The confab has previously premiered “Nip/Tuck” and “The Sopranos.”

Further events and panels are planned in cooperation with British pubcaster BBC, Germany’s broadcasters WDR and Sat 1, and shingles Grundy Light Entertainment and Me, Myself & Eye (MME).

The Cologne Conference is one section of the larger Medienforum North-Rhine Westphalia, which also comprises the Intl. Film Conference. It is organized by the government and media authority of North-Rhine Westphalia.
