BBC shows all the rage in Budapest
Munich — BBC Worldwide sold 500 hours of programming at Eastern European TV market DISCOP in Budapest.
BBC Worldwide inked deals with Romanian net TVR, Croatian HRT, Studio 1+1 in the Ukraine and Kanal Knaks in Estonia. Titles sold include the Beeb’s natural history skein “Planet Earth,” sci-fi drama skein “Doctor Who,” docu-drama “Hannibal,” and ballroom dancing game show “Strictly Come Dancing.”
In addition, it pre-sold “Jane Eyre” to Bulgarian pubcaster Bulgarian TV along with some of its other drama programming including “Spooks,” “Hustle,” “Hotel Babylon,” “Under the Greenwood Tree” and “Waterloo Road.”
