Bakhtiar in at Fox News

Former CNN anchor's onboard as general correspondent

NEW YORK — Fox News Channel has hired former CNN anchor Rudi Bakhtiar as a general correspondent, the network announced Wednesday.

Bakhtiar served as a primetime contributor to CNN based in New York and was an anchor for CNN Headline News’ nightly newscast from 2002-05.

Bakhtiar left the net last year after Headline News retooled its primetime, replacing hard news with “Showbiz Tonight” and “Nancy Grace.”

Bakhtiar joined CNN as an intern in the Los Angeles bureau in 1996, served as a segment producer for CNNfn and became an on-air reporter for CNN Newsroom in 1999.
