Granada Asia lands in Hong Kong

Blighty TV sales firm hires Ross to new post

HONG KONG — Granada International, foreign sales arm of Blighty’s ITV Worldwide, is to open an Asia office in Hong Kong.

Company has hired James Ross, former BBC journo and Bloomberg marketing and distribution director, for new role as regional director, Asia. Ross has been based in Hong Kong since 1996.

“The importance of China and the Asian territories to our business has culminated in our decision to set up a regional office in Hong Kong, Granada Int’l managing director, Nadine Nohr, said. “(Ross) is perfectly placed to build strategic partnerships and develop our new media sales business in Asia. Broadband and mobile phone penetration in the Far East are already the highest in the world and predicted to grow.”

George Sakkalli, Granada Int’l’s sales VP for Japan, Russia and Africa, will continue to operate in the region based in London office.

Recent program sales in Asia have included “Hell’s Kitchen USA.”
