Variety waters ‘Flower’

Chow eager for follow-up

WHAT: Variety Screening Series unspooled “Curse of the Golden Flower” Nov. 13 at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood.

WHO: Director Zhang Yimou with actors Gong Li and Chow Yun-fat.

MAN AT WORK: Action star Chow Yun-fat made it clear that he’s only acted in four movies since 2000 because either “the timing is not good, the money is not good, or the script is not good,” he explained. “I’m dying to act in front of the camera, but I’m looking for better opportunities. As an Asian actor, it’s very difficult for the mainstream media role. I’m a lucky guy with very good fortune because I’m not Jackie Chan or Jet Li. I didn’t know how to move with my feet. I use my hands with two guns.”
