ROME — Sophia Loren has turned over letters, photos and clothing as part of an exhibit, at the Vittoriano chronicling her travels from being a child in Naples to cinema icon.

The exhibit, “Scicolone Lazzaro Loren,” titled after the three names she has held during her career, showcases 4,000 items, from awards to toys, magazine covers, letters, costumes, stills and posters from her life and work.

One section showcases shots taken by fashion photo-guru Richard Avedon as well as offhand pictures snapped by Tazio Secchiaroli, the first- ever paparazzo.

Exhibit wraps May 7; next stop: Buenos Aires.
