New Line has Field day

'Children' play in wide release

HOLLYWOOD — Director Todd Field insisted “Little Children” isn’t another suburbia send-up.

Field along with pic’s thesps Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson were on hand at La Terza on Nov. 14 to celebrate New Line’s wide release of the film.

“It’s more a theatrical and allegorical place. It’s not like any suburbs I know,” said Field. “It felt like Thornton Wilder’s ‘Our Town’ or more to the point, ‘Our Country.’ In terms of American culture, you could argue that suburbia is everywhere.”
