CHICAGO — A lot of in-person candor and a rousing onscreen dose of Kander & Ebb led to an evening’s worth of standing ovations as the Chicago Intl. Film Festival paid tribute to Liza Minnelli on Oct. 17.
Film critic and historian John Russell Taylor interviewed her — as he had her father, Vincente Minnelli, at the same fest in 1974.
Trouper Minnelli gave the gung-ho aud a bit of personal advice: “Anyone who’s having hip problems — have your hip done. What a relief!”
