Former distrib bizzer James S. Langsbard died Aug, 20 at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles after fighting cancer.  He was 72. 

New York City native attended Bronx High School of Science and graduated from Hunter College with a degree in accounting. For decades as a CPA, he held posts at Cinerama in New York and then overseas.  At 20th Century Fox, he served  as VP in international theatrical distribution, eventually managing Fox’s satellite offices overseas.  He held that position for more than 10 years, and after 21 years at Fox, he began his own consultation business.

In that biz, he served Hollywood producers in financial matters, including   Mel Brooks, Jake Eberts, Alberto Grimaldi and major studios.

He is survived by wife Romana and two sons.
