Actor and artist Gil Amelio died Sept. 14 in Hemet, Calif. after being hit by a car. He was 82.
Amelio performed live and on television as a sculptor.
Born in the Bronx, he studied art and law and also competed as a tennis player. He worked as a producer on Robert Schuller’s “Tower of Power” and at one time owned a product placement firm.
In films, he appeared in “Amadeus,” “The Bourne Identity” and “Shadow Fury.” On TV, he appeared in “Six Feet Under” and “Power Rangers.”
He recently appeared in a production of “Judgement at Nuremberg” at the Long Beach Conservatory.
He was a cousin of former Apple CEO Gilbert F. Amelio.
He is survived by four children and 12 grandchildren.
