Literary agent Dorris Halsey died Oct. 26 in Hollywood. She was 80.

With her late husband, Reece Halsey, she established the Reece Halsey Agency in Hollywood in 1957, where she continued to work until the time of her death. The agency’s clients included the estate of Aldous Huxley as well as writers William Faulkner, Henry Miller and Upton Sinclair.

Another client was Geraldine Saunders, whose book “Love Boats” became the basis of the “Love Boat” TV series.

Born Doris Vilmos in Budapest, Hungary, her family moved to Paris before the outbreak of WWII. While attending high school in France, she was recruited by the French underground to work against the Nazis, by whom she was eventually imprisioned.

After the war she moved to Hollywood where she met her husband.

She is survived by her son Richard, a film editor; daughters Christina and Carol; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
