Foundation offers $5 mil donation

The Fran and Ray Stark Foundation has bestowed a $5 million endowment upon the Peter Stark Producing Program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Gift is the first to build on the school’s recently announced $200 million endowment campaign. Program was originally endowed in 1979 through the Starks’ $1 million gift in memory of their son, Peter. It is currently under the direction of producer and Academy board member Lawrence Turman.

Alumni of the program include Warner Independent prexy Polly Cohen, Imagine Entertainment topper Jim Whitaker and producers Neal Moritz, Al Gough, Miles Millar, Kevin McCollum and Stacey Sher.
